“My Aged Care (MAC) is the main entry point to the aged care system in Australia. My Aged Care aims to make it easier for older people, their families, and carers to access information on ageing and aged care, have their needs assessed and be supported to find and access services.” (Department of Health)

My Aged Care has been offering services to the ageing population since 2013. However, over the last few years, with changes in consumer driven care, the utilisation of allied health has become a major component of the service. Most importantly allied health has become an integral part of clients’ independence and well being focus.

The MAC system can be difficult to navigate for all users. Unfortunately Exercise Physiology services through the MAC portal are very minimal and terribly advertised, therefore we suggest the following pathway to deliver the most appropriate services for you, a family member or client.

MAC is compromised of 3 major initiatives that encourage and provide Exercise Physiology services.

  • Home Care Package (HCP)

  • Short term restorative care (STRC)

  • Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP)

Through all 3 funding models the utilisation of Exercise Physiology is available via your care organisation. Full Circle Wellness is an allied health company that supply services directly to clients via their care organisations. Simply put, we can provide you with Exercise Physiology through the majority of HCP, STRC and CHSP providers currently operating. Depending on the specifics of your care - Package type, funding amount and care provider - FCW can assist with in home, clinic or community based Exercise Physiology services.

The first step is to contact our office on 07 5456 1599 to discuss how Exercise Physiology could benefit your quality of life and from there we can supply information regarding funding, packages and how we can provide these services. We will happily discuss all of your services with your care organisation.

We have many articles, links and information available regarding Exercise Physiology and its role within aged and senior care that you can refer to in order to gauge your appropriateness for these services. Please feel free to contact our office to enquire about any of the above-mentioned topics.
